What is a crypto prop challenge?
A crypto prop challenge is a rules-based evaluation of trading performance. At PropGo, both evaluation stages take place on managed demo accounts with virtual balances.
Reviewed 16 August 2026 · PropGo-specific rules are identified explicitly
The five parts of the evaluation
- Select and purchase a program. The challenge size is a virtual demo balance, not money deposited into your account. Price and rules are shown before payment.
- Activate the challenge. PropGo creates a managed Bybit Demo environment and provides the account credentials.
- Trade the published rules. Equity must stay above both loss floors while closed-trade realized profit progresses toward the target.
- Reach the review checkpoint. The account must be flat, the minimum UTC trading days complete, and the realized target maintained through a 40–120 minute automated confirmation.
- Wait for an operator decision. Stage 1 approval creates a fresh Stage 2 demo. Final approval and any reward record remain separate review steps.
Which number counts toward the target?
For PropGo, the target uses profit from closed trades. A position showing unrealized profit does not advance the target. This avoids treating a temporary open-position gain as a completed result.
For a $10,000 Pulse challenge with a 10% target, the required realized profit is $1,000. The displayed balance reference is therefore $11,000, but approval still requires a flat account, enough trading days, the confirmation window, and review.
Why drawdown can end the challenge first
The profit target and drawdown limits are independent. PropGo checks equity against a daily floor that trails the current UTC-day peak and an overall floor fixed from initial balance. Falling below either floor ends the challenge even if closed profit had previously moved toward the target.

What “simulated” means
- The displayed account balance is virtual and has no withdrawal value.
- Evaluation orders occur in a demo environment; the challenge does not give the trader custody of company or customer funds.
- The challenge fee pays for the evaluation service, not for a share of the virtual account.
- A displayed split is a program parameter applied only after eligibility and review; it is not an expected return.
Questions to answer before buying any challenge
- Is the environment simulated or live?
- Does the target use balance, equity, or closed-trade realized profit?
- Are drawdown floors static, trailing, intraday, or end-of-day?
- What counts as a trading day, and is there a confirmation period?
- What happens after a pass, which checks can reject it, and when is KYC required?
- Is your country eligible for the platform, payment method, and delivery infrastructure?
Frequently asked questions
Is a crypto prop challenge live trading?
Not necessarily. PropGo challenge stages use managed demo accounts with virtual balances. No participant deposit is traded from the challenge account.
Does reaching the target mean automatic approval?
No. In PropGo, the closed-trade target, flat-account condition, minimum trading days, and confirmation window must be satisfied before the stage enters manual review.
Can the challenge fee be treated as an investment?
No. The fee buys access to a simulated evaluation service. It is not a deposit, trading balance, or guaranteed-return product.
